While traveling through Australia, I discovered my love for bliss balls again. These balls are so energy-rich and the perfect grab-and-go snack all day long. Several Australian supermarkets have bliss balls on their stocklist with different flavors. My absolute favorite ones were Carman’s Almond, Super Seed & Vanilla Bliss Balls. I really loved the combination of vanilla and the slightly sweet taste of the dates mixture. Back home I tried my own version of bliss balls and I am super happy with the result: Vanilla Cacao Bliss Balls with crunchy almond chunks and nuts. Preparation takes literally just 10 minutes. You only need a good food processor to crush the almonds, dates and nuts!
The year 2017 is just coming to an end. Like every year, I kind of feel astonished how fast the year has just passed by. Time flies – that’s so true. Looking back on 2017, I am more than grateful for all the exciting moments I experienced and the people I met. I am so grateful to have the chance to live my life to the fullest. 2017 was packed with lots of joyful moments, some challenges and great opportunities. Especially, I will remember the awesome time I had during my semester abroad in beautiful Norway. Food, of course, played a huge role in 2017. Even though I only rarely published new recipes on the blog this year, I prepared hundreds of delicious meals and tested some new ingredients and combinations. Thus, I want to share one more amazing recipe from 2017 with you: A fennel-carrot salad with couscous.
Probably, you will find thousands of recipes for chocolate chip oatmeal cookies on the internet and everyone tells that his or her recipe is the best in the world. Well, I still want to add my one as well :-). These cookies are definitely not similar to the ones you get at Subway, McDonalds, Starbucks etc. They are not super sweet but have this rich chocolate taste and a crispy soft texture. Thus, these cookies are the perfect snack in the afternoon, after your training, for breakfast, at night – simply always! What I love most about these chocolate cookies is that you can squeeze some ice cream in between two cookies and make yourself an ice cream sandwich. Actually, this combination tastes best when the cookies are still warm!
